Biography
My name is Dr. Jennifer Dineen, Consultant Neurologist.
Having graduated from UCC Medicine I have pursued a career in Neurology through the RCPI and completed training with three Harvard Medical School fellowships in Massachusetts General, Brigham & Women’s and Beth Israel Hospitals in Boston, focusing on neuromuscular medicine, autonomic and peripheral nerve neurology/ neurophysiology and intraoperative neurophysiology.

During neurology training I successfully completed a Masters in Neuroimaging through the University of Edinburgh.
I am interested in all areas of neurology including migraine, epilepsy, stroke, movement disorders and others. My specialist areas of interest include the diagnosis and treatment of patients with autonomic and peripheral nerve disorders. In addition to the standard neurological services, I also perform nerve conduction studies, electromyography and autonomic function testing.
I am on the specialist register in Neurology of the Irish Medical Council, a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and have membership of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Society of Clinical Neurophysiology.
I have designed this website to be used by patients. Often visiting the doctor can be daunting and a source of stress. Patients may find the consultation is an information overload and by the time they have reached home may find that half of the information has been forgotten. This website explains all of the conditions I treat as well as the medications and what to expect from treatment and from the condition. Patients are encouraged to read the relevant sections pertaining to their condition and the treatment they have received. It will act as a refresher and a reminder of the things we have discussed in clinic.
