Who gets it?

- Age - Multiple sclerosis tends to occur in young adults.
- Gender- It is more common in women than men.
- Climate- Living in a temperate climate is associated with a higher risk of multiple sclerosis. It is thought that sunshine and vitamin D are important.
- Family history of autoimmunity- Multiple sclerosis is not a hereditary condition but there is an increased chance of it occurring in family members.
